Are Jaws Getting Smaller?

Tao symbol gif

The problem may be your jaw! Jaws are the door to the airway, and jaws and airways are getting smaller. Most people today have jaws averaging 1/4 inch too small to fit wisdom teeth.

This problem is made worse by the continued practice of orthodontic extraction - the 4-bi-cuspid extraction procedure still used today, further reducing an already restricted airway.

There are many health consequences of overbites, underbites, narrow and too-small jaws. Of prime importance is the effect on our bodies of not getting enough life-giving oxygen!

CranioSacral Therapy and TMJ

CranioSacral Therapy works by helping the body's natural healing mechanisms dissipate the negative effects of stress on the central nervous system. And a reduced flow of oxygen is definitely a stress on our bodies! The joint formed between the lower jaw (mandible) and the temporal bones, the TMJ, is well-known these days. When the jaw does not grow down and forward after birth as much as nature intends, or when a dentist applies great pressure during an extraction, or example, malocclusions and restrictions to the normal movement of the jaw and temporal bones may occur.

What's the solution? ...

The CranioSacral Solution

CranioSacral Therapy helps relieve these restrictions and restore mobility? The problem may be coming from the sacrum, causing dysfunction up the spine into the head, neck and shoulders. But a great majority of people, young and old, have some "jamming in" of the temporal bones, with cascading effects on other areas of their physical, mental, and emotional health.

CranioSacral Therapy can help remove restrictions in the jam and encourage downward and forward growth. In some cases, the use of a functional orthodontic or airway appliance is recommended along with CranioSacral Therapy.
